How-To Submit Your Proof of Vaccination or Exemption Request

To protect the health and safety of our community, Cape Breton University requires all individuals who regularly attend campus and who work and/or live in student residence to be vaccinated. Proof of vaccination must be submitted by October 15, 2021. Below you will find step-by-step instructions for each of the following processes:

  • Submitting your proof of vaccination online as a student
  • Submitting your proof of vaccination online as an employee
  • Submitting your proof of vaccination in person
  • Submitting your exemption request

Please note: you will need to have an electronic copy of your vaccination record or exemption form ready to upload before you begin this process.

Submitting Your Proof of Vaccination Online

Whether you are a student or employee, you can follow the first five steps below. The directions then split into one section for students and one for employees.

Step One: Open a web browser and enter the following URL (https://cbu.apparmor.com/webapp/default.aspx?menu=Apply+for+Vaccine+Status) or click here. 

Click here to be taken to the AppArmor Platform.

Step Two: Read the Data Usage and Privacy Information by clicking on the “learn more” button.

Step Three: Click the “log in with CBU credentials” button.

Step Four: Enter your CBU email address and network password. You will see a success message.

Step Five: Click “continue.”

Steps 6-10 for Students

Step Six: To submit proof of vaccination status online, click “student.” Click “begin application” under the “Online Application” heading. Please note: you will need to have an electronic copy of your vaccination record ready to upload before you begin this step of the process.

Step Seven: At this stage, you will see two “begin application” buttons. If both of your vaccinations are approved by Health Canada (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson) click the first button. If your vaccinations are approved by the World Health Organization, click the second button.

Step Eight: Enter your student ID and a 10-digit phone number and click “next.”

Step Nine: Select your vaccine doses from the drop-down menus and enter your vaccination dates. Then upload your proof of vaccination file. This can be a screenshot of your immunization record. Please note: if you received your vaccinations outside of Canada is okay if your immunization records are not in English.

Step Ten: Click the check box to consent to share your proof of vaccination and click “submit.”

You will receive a confirmation email to your CBU email address and can now close your browser and wait for your submission to be reviewed. You will be notified via email when your submission has been approved.

Steps 6-10 for Employees

Step Six: To submit proof of vaccination status online, click “staff/faculty.” Click “begin application” under the “Online Application” heading. Please note: you will need to have an electronic copy of your vaccination record ready to upload before you begin this step of the process.

Step Seven: At this stage, you will see two “begin application” buttons. If both of your vaccinations are approved by Health Canada (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson) click the first button. If your vaccinations are approved by the World Health Organization, click the second button.

Step Eight: Enter your employee ID number and a 10-digit phone number and click “next.”

Step Nine: Select your vaccine doses from the drop-down menus and enter your vaccination dates. Then upload your proof of vaccination file. This can be a screenshot of your immunization record.

Step Ten: Click the check box to consent to share your proof of vaccination and click “submit.”

Submitting Your Proof of Vaccination In Person

Follow steps one through five before selecting the “begin application” button under the “In-Person Verification” heading.

Enter your ID and phone number and click “submit.”

Follow the on-screen directions to drop off your proof of vaccination in person.

Submitting Your Exemption Request

Please note: Before beginning this process, you must have your medical or religious/creed form filled out and signed by the required representative. The digital copy of this document will need to be uploaded during this process.

Follow steps one through five before selecting the “exemptions” button.

Step Six: To submit your exemption request online, click “begin exemption application.”

Step Seven: Select student or staff/faculty and enter your ID number, phone number and exemption type before uploading your completed exemption form and clicking “next.”

You will receive a confirmation email to your CBU email address and can now close your browser and wait for your submission to be reviewed. You will be notified via email when a decision has been made on your request.

If you would prefer to submit your exemption request in person, follow steps one through five and then click “begin in-person exemption application.” Select student or staff/faculty and enter your ID number, phone number and exemption type before clicking “next.” Follow the on-screen directions to drop off your exemption request in person.
