Heidi hails from New Waterford, Nova Scotia. Having just completed her BACS degree from CBU in May 2020, she is currently enrolled in the B.Ed program at CBU, focusing on English and Social Studies in the secondary stream. Outside of her studies, she enjoy going for walks in nature with her dog, Sunnie, spending time with her loved ones, and more recently, playing Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch. Heidi is super passionate about music, art and social justice! This will be her second year working with the First Year Advising Centre, and she’s thrilled to be back. Heidi looks forward to interacting with new students and helping them start their journey at Cape Breton University!
Charlotte is a second year Bachelor of Arts Community Studies student with a focus in History and Mi’kmaq Studies. She is one of the student employees here at the First Year Advising Centre and can’t wait to help you get started with your CBU journey! Being from Toronto, Charlotte understands how daunting it might be to start at a new school in an unfamiliar place. She is looking forward to helping students in similar positions navigate the process and make CBU home, just like she has.
Navy is a second-year student at CBU. She is studying for her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Environmental Studies. She is also a member of Enactus CBU, an entrepreneurship society, allowing her to work with students from many different backgrounds. As an international student, she has been through and understands the difficulties new and international students face in different academic and living environments. Naturally driven to help, Navy loves to work with incoming students to have a smooth transition into the university life.
Kaileigh Rowe just completed her second year in a Bachelor of Science Honours degree with a major in biology. She came with a strong CBU background, with both of her parents and her older brother being CBU alumni. When she isn’t studying she can generally be found having game nights with her friends and family or reading books. She looks forward to helping ease your transition into Cape Breton University!
Brooke Ramsey is a CBU student from Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia.In 2020, she entered into her 3rd year in the Bachelor of Arts program. As a Communication major with a minor in Psychology, she loves making connections and working with others. She is also involved in the Dramatic Arts at CBU. She is thrilled to be a member of the First Year Advising Center Team, and looks forward to meeting and assisting students with all of their unique challenges, as she understands first-hand that the transition into university is different for everyone.
Brittany attended CBU for 4 years, graduating last year with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology. Brittany’s current goal is to become an Occupational Therapist. This is her second year working with CBU’s awesome advising team as a student employee. Brittany looks forward to being in contact with our new students and provide any help she can!
