Dr. Vielka Salazar’s teaching responsibilities include Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Advanced Human Physiology, Animal Physiology, and Biomechanics. Her current research interests are focused on the neuroendocrine regulation of animal communication, specifically looking at the electrocommunication signals of gymnotiform electric fish.

Dr. Heather Schmidt currently teaches Introduction to Psychology, Personality, Qualitative Methods in Psychology, and History of Psychology. Her primary research interests involve using participatory action research, & other community-based approaches to faciliate empowerment and social justice for Mi'kmaw First Nations and local community organizations such as Crossroads Clubhouse.
