CBU invites applications for the position of Program Director for its new Bachelor of Social Work program. The successful applicant will be appointed for a 5 year term with possibility of renewal and hold an academic appointment at rank within the School (as per provisions outlined in the CBUFA collective agreement).

CBU is seeking a Program Director who will support the success of students, faculty, and staff and engage with local, academic, and professional communities to develop educational, practice-oriented, and professional partnerships.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary and collaborative leader with experience in program development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, collegial governance, and accreditation processes.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Social Work, demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and social work education, and be committed to the principles of social justice and advocacy in a social work context and beyond. The preferred candidate will also have extensive clinical/practice experience in the field of social work. Experience working with Indigenous communities will be considered an asset.

Applicants must either be currently registered as a Social Worker with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers or be eligible for registration.
