Expression of Interest: COVID-19 Testing Nurse (Open Call – No Deadline)

CBU invites applications for a COVID-19 Testing Nurse to begin immediately after selection or shortly thereafter. The rate of pay for this position is $40.00 per hour.

The COVID-19 Testing Nurse will be responsible to perform the appropriate swabbing/specimen collection for the purpose of testing individuals for COVID19. Patient education and maintaining appropriate infection, prevention and control techniques are required.

The intention of the clinic is to test asymptomatic people, however there is a risk of exposure to COVID-19 so strict adherence to infection prevention and control practices is a must.

You will be exposed to various disinfectant wipes as well as alcohol hand sanitizer.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the NSCN as an RN or LPN.
  • Must have strong communication skills, be able to stand for long periods of time and wear appropriate PPE. (face mask, gown, gloves and face shield).
  • Must be a critical thinker, with a willingness to learn appropriate techniques for specimen collection as well as donning and doffing PPE.
  • As part of the clinic team, you may be required to assist in the set up or tear down the clinic, stock shelves and disinfect work area as appropriate.
