Reporting to the Director, Facilities Management, as Assistant Director, Facilities Management, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the department is delivering on its mandate to effectively and efficiently deliver a multitude of diverse functions and services, including utilities services, facilities maintenance and repair, alterations and renovations to existing facilities and campus security, in support of the University’s overall mission.  You will provide planning and oversight for campus facilities and infrastructure and be accountable for ensuring that all physical plant facilities and grounds are developed, operated, and maintained in a safe, effective and efficient manner consistent with the needs of the University and within budgetary constraints.  You will play a lead role in working with senior CBU leaders and with external engineers, architects and contractors in the design and construction of exciting new potential projects on the horizon, such as the recently announced CBU Centre for Discovery and Innovation. As this role is in succession to the Director, Facilities Management position, this could be an exciting opportunity to further grow your career.

As the ideal candidate, you are a professional engineer with experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder, unionized environment overseeing a diverse range of facilities, operations and projects. Whether your experience is from the public or private sector, you are committed to customer service excellence and continuously striving to do things better. Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills enable you to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders alike. You are as comfortable walking through a worksite and talking through technical details of a project with members of your team as you are conducting a formal presentation about a new building to a committee of the Board of Governors. Collaboration and integrity are hallmarks of your leadership.
