Digital & Social Media Marketer

Requirements

Cape Breton University is looking for someone special. Someone who relishes the idea of helping to create and promote an educational environment where students don’t just go, they Happen. Because CBU is a unique place where students who believe that they can actually have an effect in the world discover what that effect is going to be.

Yes, it’s exciting. And if you’re the person we’re looking for, you’re already thinking of ways you can bring your energy and help build the kind of place where people Happen.   You’re someone who will care about not just about what students do at CBU, but what they do beyond it. Because what happens at Cape Breton University doesn’t stay in Cape Breton. It’s already happening in Cape Breton, across Canada and around the world.

If you can imagine yourself helping to make all this Happen, please keep reading.

The Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist will have a combination of digital, content and social media marketing know-how along with fantastic writing and editing abilities. You should also have a command of best practices and trends in these areas, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.  You’ll work closely with your Marketing and Communications teammates from a variety of disciplines (marketing, communications, graphic design, video and web programming) to bring effective marketing campaigns and social media strategies to life. With an in-depth knowledge of tools like HubSpot, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as Google Analytics and AdWords, you will continuously identify opportunities to iterate and improve on our programs.  We know, it’s a tall order!  In return, CBU offers a superior benefits package, a dynamic, supportive work environment and onsite childcare opportunities on one of the most beautiful, culturally rich islands in the world.
