Clinical and Academic Background

My clinical background is primarily in mixed pediatric/adult emergency nursing. As a staff and travel nurse, I have worked in large trauma centers, as well as remote and rural hospitals across Canada including Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and the Northwest Territories. Alongside clinical work, I started my academic career at the University of British Columbia, after which I worked with Child Health Evaluative Sciences at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. I came to Cape Breton University in 2016, and through an ongoing balance of clinical practice, nursing education, and patient-centered research, I work to contribute to better health and nursing care.
