Kate Dunlay graduated from Indiana University in 1988 with an M.A. in Folklore and Ethnomusicology, although her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College is in Environmental Studies.
Currently she is studying Scottish Gaelic. Kate has been involved in traditional music and dance for most of her life. Co-author of “Traditional Celtic Violin Music of Cape Breton, the DunGreen Collection”, her current research focuses on early traditional-music publications and manuscripts. At home in Halifax, she enjoys fiddling for contra dancing, and other musical activities.
