Sarah Barnes

Assistant Professor

Sarah Barnes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Experiential Studies in Community and Sport. Her research addresses social issues in sport, especially as related to athlete welfare, diversity and inclusion in coaching, and the Canadian postsecondary sector. Barnes’ works appears in the Sociology of Sport Journal, the International Review for the Sociology of Sport, and the Sport Coaching Review. Barnes is a former basketball player and coach and has experience working in grassroots, university, and international sport.
