Originally from Labrador, De-Ann brings 32 years of Nurse Practitioner experience when she joined the faculty in January of 2019. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Toronto, Adult Education and Community Development with a specialization in Indigenous Health. PhD research examines the role the colonized profession of nursing plays in furthering health inequities with Indigenous peoples. Her passion is teaching and research that builds relationships, informs practice and activism, inspires critical thinking and stimulates challenging and transformative conversation.
