About the job:
The Climate Community Liaison (CCL) will be integral to the planning of a fall 2024 symposium, which aims to forge targeted community partnerships to strengthen social justice-oriented climate change education within CBU’s education programs. This organized individual will work collaboratively with the project team to liaise with community partners to map organizational mandates and plan logistics for the symposium. The project is oriented around social justice, reconciliation, and sustainable well-being. Since the symposium is a community-based research project, this position is an excellent opportunity to develop research skills while establishing community networks towards future employment prospects.
Job Duties:

– Augment through research and outreach a growing database of potential community partners active both locally and provincially in issues of sustainability, climate change education, social justice, well-being, and the intersections between these.
– Conduct desk research to map the organizational mandates of community partners in relation to CBU’s teacher education program and climate change education.
– Plan logistics for a participatory symposium on climate change education that will take place in fall 2024. Duties include booking venues and catering, developing promotional materials, maintaining contact lists, planning the event schedule and logistics.
– Under the guidance of researchers, aid in ethics proposal development.
