Job Description:

The CBU Student Ambassador Coordinator will oversee 4 other student ambassador hires. This position will act as a student representative and brand ambassador for Cape Breton University. As a Student Ambassador Coordinator, the student will have the opportunity to work closely with the Recruitment and Marketing teams both in office and off campus for local recruitment initiatives and events. This coordinator position will oversee the activity and engagement of other student ambassadors on several social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter,Snapchat, WeChat and Wiebo. Through the Coordinator, our ambassador team will act as social media influencers, extending the reach of the CBU narrative by posting CBU branded content. Campus tours will be arranged by the coordinator in conjunction with the recruitment team. Future student inquiries via phone, email and social media will also be answered by the coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled at Cape Breton University and in good academic standing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills -Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a good working relationship with other ambassadors and university employees
  • Ability to lead a team of fellow students
  • Good judgement skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work non-traditional working hours -Drivers license is an asset
  • Must be familiar with all popular social media platforms
  • Successful candidates will be trained in best practices for social media and reminded of the Respectful Campus Policy

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Campus Tours -Responsible for managing and conducting Campus Tours. As a campus tour lead, you will show potential students and their parents the CBU campus. Tours will be in both an individualized and group setting.
  • Administrative Tasks -Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, answering inquires via phone, assisting with administrative tasks, and responding to email inquiries regarding CBU program offerings and services.
  • Online Chat/ Future Student Email -Responsible for answering any potential student inquiries through a chat form in a timely manner.
  • Events/Recruitment -Help with planning and execution of all on campus events for future students along with attending many on campus events hosted by other departments.
  • Student Ambassadors will also attend recruitment events with our Recruiters in the community, at local schools and virtual fairs or seminars.
  • Marketing -Post CBU-branded photos to personal Instagram account, sharing the CBU narrative in a positive way, at least bi-weekly (studying in the library, attending a Capers game, hanging out at residence, etcetera)
  • Promote CBU’s official Social Media Channels within posts
  • Complete one Snapchat takeover -RT and Share applicable Twitter and Facebook posts made by CBU’s official accounts (to be outlined by the Digital and Social Media Marketer)
  • May be required to attend events to contribute live content
