School of Nursing Support Assistant

Job Description

This student position is to help support nursing students in their need to get to their clinical location. This position would be responsible for connecting with students and possibly clinical placement leader to organize student transportation in CBU van. This position is responsible for coming up with a schedule and timetable regarding clinical transportation and van.

Duties

• Organize a schedule to accommodate nursing students without secured transportation to their clinical placement
• connect with students needing transportation
• Plan-out a timetable of when the Van is needed and coordinate with driver etc.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should be professional attentive while also being accurate. They should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. They must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication.  

• Strong English verbal and written communication skills 
• Ability to schedule using outlook calendars
• Microsoft proficient 
• Comfortable with routinely shifting demands
• Comfortable with multitasking demands 
• High degree of attention to detail 
• Working knowledge of academic writing and project management
• Working knowledge of the Nursing Program here at CBU   

Eligibility: 

Enrolled full time  at Cape Breton University, Sydney campus and in good academic standing. 

Learning Outcomes:

• Communicate with groups of diverse people
• Become fluent at Microsoft and outlook systems
• Become acquainted with the School of Nursing clinical placements.

30 hrs/week/4weeks

$14.50/hour

Work start date: July 1, 2023

End date: July 31, 2023
