About the Job:
The Archivist will compile the paper and electronic files (images) and paper information collected about the CBU Biology Department (members, student successes, hosting Science Atlantic, awards created etc.), for 30 years into an electronic Word Document. The material will be managed in groupings (Professors, Lab Instructors, Student Awards, etc.), and processes into a booklet so it can be preserved and shared with others.
Task/Duties:
- Collect data and make a Table of Contents and then compile data into a document/booklet.
Expected Learning Outcomes:
- Knowledge of the History of the Department of Biology at CBU
- Administration and Management of a Historical Document
- Student Connections within the Department of Biology and the University
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled, full time, at Cape Breton University and in good academic standing.
- This position is meant to aid Senior Lab Instructor Denise Forgeron (SS&T) in archiving data collected about CBU Biology history. The candidate will have an association to the Biology Department (biology student).
- The position will involve digitizing information, collecting further information, creating a Table of Contents, and preserving the data to create a document.
- Senior Lab Instructor Forgeron will provide guidance in this regard, but the ideal candidate must be able to work alone entering information and also must be able to communicate with others to receive information.
