About the Job

Guided by the Office of Research and Graduate Studies team, the student will create resource materials for researchers applying to a variety of federal and provincial funding opportunities. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research administration and deepen the student’s understanding of the academic research funding landscape. The successful candidate will assist in developing resource documents, including briefing notes on federal funding competitions, partnership opportunities, and comprehensive ‘how-to’ guides for various aspects of the grant writing process. Responsibilities include reviewing policies and guidelines to distill eligibility requirements and application processes into clear, accessible formats.

Duties

  • Develop resource documents, including briefing notes on provincial, federal, and partnership funding opportunities and competitions
  • Create user-friendly ‘how-to’ guides that provide step-by-step instructions on various aspects of the grant writing process
  • Synthesize complex information into clear, accessible formats for use by researchers and staff
  • Work with the ORGS team (and potentially with identified faculty) to compile FAQs for faculty applying to partnership and provincial and federal programs

Qualifications

  • Senior or advanced student
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Strong communication and writing skills

Eligibility

Must be enrolled full time and in good academic standing at Cape Breton University
