Job Description:

Week of Welcome (WOW) takes place from September 4-11, 2021. During Week of Welcome, students will come together to take part in a variety of activities to celebrate the start of a new school year. We have lots of exciting activities planned as we kick off a new semester and we are hiring Week of Welcome Assistants to help us execute this fun, action-packed week.

Week of Welcome Assistants will help with the preparation and execution of the 2021 Week of Welcome. Week of Welcome Assistants will have a more in-depth knowledge of the week’s events and will be the go-to people for our Week of Welcome Volunteer Leaders. Week of Welcome Assistants will ensure that the 2021 Week of Welcome is vibrant, inclusive, welcoming and safe.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Student Life and Community Engagement Coordinator the week before WOW and the week during WOW
• Assist with activity set up
• Help to facilitate orientation events
• Lead Week of Welcome Volunteer Leaders
• Ensure all new and returning students feel welcome to campus
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Be in your second year, or above. Students from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Able to work both independently and in a group setting
• Able to facilitate meaningful programming for their peers
• Able to demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Have an energetic and welcoming attitude
