VOLUNTEER – Relationship Managers

What is Start Proud:
Start Proud aims to connect LGBTQ+ students with employers, while promoting the
development of LGBTQ+ professionals, and celebrating the achievements and service of
those in the community.

We facilitate the professional development of LGBTQ+ students as they transition from
school to career in order to build a national network within the community. Our vision is
to empower members of the LGBTQ+ community to be Canada’s leaders of tomorrow;
where all institutions embrace inclusiveness within the workplace and diversity within
the workforce

About the Role:
Reporting to the VP of Sponsorship, our Relationship Managers are the day-to-day
contact for our 50+ corporate sponsors that support our programs and initiatives. If you
are interested in sales, customer relationship management, or expanding your network in
some of Canada’s largest companies and most prominent start ups then this may be the
role for you.

 

In this role you will:
● Meet with sponsors representatives to talk about about conferences and the
different sponsorship opportunities available
● Act as the liaison between Start Proud and our existing partners ensuring their
needs and expectations are met. This includes coordinating between the
organizations and its partners with regards to event logistics
● Work with VP of Sponsorship and Program & Event Manager to develop a list of
potential organizations to pursue as new prospects to expand our partnership
base
● Ensure that the Sponsorship team keeps up-to-date and accurate records of
confirmed sponsorship and related documents

 

Commitment
● ~5-10 hours per week
● Some daytime availability is desired for meetings with Sponsors.
● Mandatory attendance at sponsorship team meetings
● No experience is required. We’re happy to train people with the motivation to
learn
