Sydney Giants Development Manager
The Sydney Giants Australian Football Club are the newest Australian Football club in Nova Scotia. It is responsible for the development of the sport in Cape Breton.
The club is on the lookout for an ideal candidate to help fastrack their development through digital marketing, governance logistics and promotional outreach.
Development Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
- Instigation of the clubs Digital Marketing Presence, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, twitter and a website.
- Promotion of junior programs to local schools, camps and other youth organizations.
- Creation of content including short and long form videos for use on the Sydney Giants various social media platforms.
- Spearheading the design of promotional materials. Particular emphasis on business to business promotions with sponsorship in mind.
- Spearheading the incorporation process for the organization, including gaining not for profit status with the Nova Scotia Not for Profit Sector.
- Organisation of relevant governance documents for easy future access for things like grant application.
Development Manager Requirements:
- Experience in various social media platforms – video editing skills an asset.
- Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
Considered an asset:
- A knowledge of, or background in, Australian Football.
- A degree (or current enrolment) in a marketing, business, or sport management degree.
Position Details:
- 8 Week position starting time T.B.D
- 35 hours weekly
- $12.95 per hour
- All training to be provided by Sydney Giants AFC
- Reporting Directly to Club President.

Funding for this position is gained through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, as such, eligible candidates need to be between under the age of 30 and either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
