BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.
BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Laboratory Instrument (Metrology) Steward Student. This is a 4 month term (May- August) position located in Windsor, NS.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing instrument calibrations and basic-level preventative and reparative maintenance on equipment.
- Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
- Assisting in the updating of SOPs
- Performing required calculations, by hand or with use of spreadsheets or validated computer systems.
- Following the company’s quality standard (quality management system procedures and cGMP regulations).
- Complying with documented safety practices for the laboratory and the manufacturing facilities, particularly DPQC0033, SOP for Analytical Services Laboratories Safety Policies.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science.
- Experience in working with analytical instrumentation.
- Knowledge of analytical methodology including weighing, spectroscopy.
- Strong computer skills.
- Good mathematical competency in arithmetic and basic algebra.
