Position: Financial and Resource Coordinator

Term: Full Time, May 24-August 28, 2020

Salary: $13 per hour plus vacation pay

The Ross Creek Centre for the Arts is looking for a coop student to fill its summer position of Financial and Resource Coordinator. This person will work closely with administrative and programming staff to ensure our bookkeeping and regulatory payments, payroll and other financial transactions are all accurately kept in a timely manner. Working under our bookkeeper, the Financial and resource coordinator will ensure contracts are followed and payments are collected and made in accordance with best practices, and assist in financial year end, bank reconciliations, HST reporting, work with our treasurer and senior staff and create reports based on financial performance.

Job Description

To provide financial and resource services for the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts’ operations and programs, including summer art camps, arts festivals and the live outdoor theatre produced by Two Planks and a Passion Theatre. In an exciting and fast-paced atmosphere, the financial and resource coordinator will work with staff and volunteers to ensure the well-maintained financial operations and success of the Centre, including a capital project, the live outdoor theatre productions at the Centre during July and August. Summer is our biggest season, with hundreds of transactions which need to be well maintained and accurately kept, with many stakeholders. It is a vital and exciting position, helping to keep the centre and the theatre on track and reporting properly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong English written and verbal abilities
  • Professional telephone & public speaking manner
  • Organizational skills and the ability to switch tasks
  • Professional, positive and creative attitude
  • Proficient computer use (Word, Excel)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Interest, experience in and/or passion for the arts
  • Love of bookkeeping and financial management
  • A knowledge of accounting systems (ideally QB)
  • A clean criminal record check

Note: Must have own transportation, Ross Creek Centre is not on a public bus route
