Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Follow company policies, procedures and service standards.
- Always have a pleasant and positive professional image.
- Knowledge of beverage items and preparation methods, including features, in order to assist guests with their selections and to promote these items.
- Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for wait staff and patrons as requested, paying attention to detail.
- Ability to work with speed and dexterity, ability to multitask.
- Organizing the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
- Cleaning the bar and work areas to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Keeping a well-stocked bar with adequate bar inventory and supplies.
- Enhance revenue flow through suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintain accurate guest checks, handle cash float, make accurate deposits, balance credit card and cash sales at the end of every shift.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in Health and Safety initiatives.
- Always maintain a cooperative and positive attitude towards the guests and fellow team members.
- Keep recyclables organized and sorted.
- Ability to take direction.
- Complete opening and closing duties.
- Perform additional duties as required such as answering the phone, take-out orders and assist with hosting/greeting guests.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience bartending.
- Must have sincere desire to exceed guest expectations.
- Pro Serve Certification.
- The ability to work well under pressure, high energy and self- motivated.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending stairs.
Visa Requirements: Candidates must hold the proper work authorization to legally work in Canada.
