Located on the west side of Cape Breton Island, we are a seasonal business in a
small seaside community that comes alive in the summer and fall with tourists
and locals. We value our local producers and our island culture and we want to
share that with our visitors. We offer a varied menu, focusing on seafood and
simplicity.
Our ideal candidate will be assisting the team in creating and preparing a quality
menu on a daily basis, reporting directly to the Executive Chef or the Sous Chef.
You will be responsible for preparation, portioning and restocking of each
element on our lunch, dinner and dessert menus. Baking bread and desserts as
needed. Assembly of items for our ‘ready to go’ take out options. Completes
opening and closing/cleaning duties as directed.
Professional food preparation experience would be considered a competitive
advantage but it is not required. We will provide the necessary education and
training for you to succeed.
Requirements:
– Flexible schedule-early morning/dayshift/weekdays/weekends
– Ability to stand for long periods of time in a hot kitchen
– Heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be required
– Food Safety Certificate
– Maintains safe working environment
– Follows verbal direction accurately
– Respectful, Inclusive Attitude
Rate of Pay: $16-$19 per hour based on experience, plus tip sharing
Hours: Guaranteed minimum 40hrs/wk 50hrs peak season July-August
Housing is available. Located within walking distance of work, grocery store and
our beautiful beaches. This is a 2 bedroom unit and will be a shared living space
with other employees
