NB&M Railways is currently seeking applications for a Human Resources/Health and Safety Coordinator Student located in Saint John, New Brunswick. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and detail. This role is open to both students and co-op students.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Business Administration Degree Program
  • Interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources or Health and Safety
  • In positive academic standing
  • Exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Curiosity and continuous improvement mindset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Must be team-oriented and an independent self-starter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively and supporting the Human Resources and Health & Safety departments
  • Perform tasks associated with administering HR programs and initiatives to drive employee engagement
  • Ensure data integrity and utilization of dashboards to provide real time information business leaders
  • Support the recruitment lifecycle, including posting requisitions, screening candidates, conducting pre-employment assessments, and completing reference checks.
  • Liaise between candidates, new hires, hiring managers, and HR business partners to ensure a positive candidate and employee experience.
  • Understand the HR and Safety systems and ensure they are optimized
  • Assist with implementation of Railway Safety System
  • Maintain data integrity system support for HR and Safety Systems
  • Various administrative duties and special assignments as required
