The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) is looking for students interested in working with the Financial Systems Training Team at DFO & CCG. Students will work in a challenging environment and be paired with an experienced mentor who will provide daily support and guidance while acquiring work experience within our Team.
This opportunity will provide you with insight into what a career in the Federal Public Service has to offer, provide you with practical experience with a Financial System in a large Federal Government Department as well as an opportunity to develop practical skills working with Financial System users from Coast to Coast. Most importantly, you will gain valuable employment skills in communication, thinking, teamwork and working effectively with others. Our Department’s new Financial system, SAP (Systems, Applications, Products) is a shared enterprise-wide system sanctioned by Treasury Board Secretariat for financial and materiel management within the Federal Government. The SAP S/4HANA solution was introduced on April 1, 2021 at DFO-CCG and our Team is working on improving training materials and supporting SAP System users in day to day transactions. Financial Systems Training Officer – Student |
As a Financial Systems Training Officer you will work with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard. You will learn how our Financial System works, how to process transactions in the Financial System and work with members of our Training Team to test and improve training materials and products. You will also provide SAP Systems support to financial system users in our Department.

Education Requirements |
· Registered and enrolled as a full-time post-secondary student in an area of Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or another relevant field · Registered in a government-approved Co-operative Education Internship Program · Returning to full-time studies in the next academic term |
