 Position:         Communications Support Officer

Our team is made up of communications and policy specialists, working to help grow the economy in Atlantic Canada and promote economic development to audiences inside and outside our region.

Duties:

The Communications Support Officer will be an important member of our team, responsible for key communication functions, including:

  • Updating and managing content calendars.
  • Publishing news releases, media advisories and social media content.
  • Assisting with the preparation of briefing materials, including speeches, backgrounders, key messages and speaking points.
  • Creating digital content such as infographics and presentations.

Assets Qualifications:

Experience

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint,
  • Experience in using and writing for social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Experience in providing creative input
  • Experience in written communication such as research documents, reports, articles, etc.
  •  Experience in planning and organizing events
  • Photography/videography experience
  • Experience in working in a hybrid-work/learning environment

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the role it plays in Atlantic Canada, and general knowledge of the Federal Government of Canada.

Abilities

Dates:                         Spring/Summer (Dates to be confirmed) (17 weeks at 37.5 hours per week)

Salary:                        $13.47 to $21.64 (Based on education & experience. Relevant details on the range will be available to those who are interviewed.)

Location:                    Charlottetown, PE (or work from home in Nova Scotia)
