 Location:        Sydney NS

Status:          Twelve- week term. This is a full -time paid position operating Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00pm.

Job Summary:   This opportunity will develop your skills in the field of public accounting and prepare you for the first step in your career by building the foundation of your financial statement understanding.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in areas of: compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax
• Develop and apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
• Establish charts of accounts, data entry and prepare entries for posting to accounts
• Managing multiple files simultaneously

Skills and Experience

• Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration -Accounting
• Working towards all necessary prerequisites for admission into the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Professional Education Program (PEP)
• Enrolled in the Co-op program at your post-secondary institution
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel
• Previous accounting related office experience and experience working with, or exposure to, accounting and tax software such as Sage 50 is an asset
