Summer 2021: Transportation Student – J.D. Irving

The Transportation Support Student will be responsible for supporting the Freight Settlements team and Transportation Planning. The Transportation Support Student will assist with the processing of carrier invoices for payment as well as provide aid to the Transportation planners when required.

Qualifications:

• Education Required: Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Business Administration program and in good academic standing
• Years of Experience Required: <2 years
• Self-starter, attention to detail, punctual, consistent, and flexible to changing tasks
• Goal oriented, demonstrate initiative, and enjoy working in a team environment
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and decision making abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with excellent typing abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Process carrier/customer invoices through EDI, Kofax and Basware for payment in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies with carriers, customer and internal transportation
• Reconcile carrier statements
• Provide vacation coverage for all positions within transportation
• Assist with tendering loads, monitor and report service issues to customer service/deployment
