Position: Junior Associate, BPO, Portfolio Administration (Co-op position)

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a growing industry in Halifax.

Core responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily cash and position reconciliations and query to full resolution on breaks
  • Prepare daily cash forecasting report under a tight morning timeline
  • Maintain a report on trusteed positions
  • Query security master and lifecycle event related issues to Data Management team for
    resolution
  • Manage cash movements between client accounts across all custodians
  • Liaise with Trade Support team to facilitate movement of cash for trade funding
  • Communicate directly with client operational staff to run back office
  • Rigorously follow internal control processes and suggest improvements to workflows in order
    to reduce risk and increase automation

Key Requirements:

  • A co-op university student, in good academic standing, currently pursuing an accounting,
    finance or economic major
  • Demonstrate an ability to multi-task, exercise initiative and work effectively within a team
    environment
  • Understanding of securities such as equities, bonds, forwards, futures, options, etc.
    preferred but not required
  • Proven investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a diligent and methodical approach to tasks
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Compensation

earns an hourly wage of $15.00CAD, working 37.5 hours per week. This is a 16 week co-op

position.

Start Date – May 10, 2021

End Date – August 27, 2021
