SUMMER 2024 CO-OP: Co-operative Social Responsibility Project Assistant – Atlantic Central

Atlantic Central is currently accepting applications for a summer co-op term position of Co-operative Social Responsibility Project Assistant.

THE POSITION: 

In the role of Co-operative Social Responsibility (CSR) Project Assistant you will be responsible for providing project support and assisting the CSR Officer in implementing and administering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that advance Atlantic Central’s CSR strategy.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support the production of the annual sustainability report, including gathering, analyzing and assessing data from internal departments, credit unions and partner organizations, monitoring progress and developing report content and communications. 
  • Assist in developing processes to track and monitor sustainability key performance indicators (KPIs). 
  • Conducts research to support the management, development and implementation of CSR programs and initiatives.  
  • Support creation and dissemination of sustainability and sponsorship communications to credit unions through internal channels.  
  • Provides administrative and project support to the CSR department with the management and implementation of CSR related programs.  

 

LOCATION: 

This position offers the ability to work remotely and services Atlantic Canada. 

 

TO JOIN OUR TEAM: 

As the ideal candidate you will be working towards completing a degree in Sustainability, Environment, Business or other relevant field of study.  You should have completed at least your first year of study and be a participant in the University’s Co-op program. 

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

You have an interest in corporate sustainability and helping organizations positively impact their communities. You have experience in data collection and reporting (familiarity with sustainability frameworks, measurement tools and/or programming languages like R or Python is an asset but not a requirement). You are comfortable learning new software and are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). You have strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, and you easily display initiative and self-motivation to ensure projects stay on track.   

 

HOURS OF WORK: 

This is a full-time summer work term position and the hours of work per week are 37.5 hours. The term for this position will be from May 13, 2024 to August 30, 2024 and the hours of work are Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm AST. 

 

COMPENSATION: 

This position will be paid hourly at $23.50 an hour plus vacation pay.
