VLT Night/Weekend Supervisor, Indian Brook Closing Date: Feb 10, 2022
General Description:
Under the direction of the Manager of Gaming, this position will be responsible for providing after hour supervision at Gas Bar 1 and 2 (as well as the Gaming room when Assistant Gaming Manager is not available) that includes opening and closing gaming rooms.
Supervises: Night and Weekend Gaming Staff
Responsibilities:
- Open Gaming Room and close when necessary (e.g. no other staff available).
- Daily reconciliations of VLT machines that includes clearing machines, counting money & bank deposits.
- Verify floats as well as reconcile daily cash and payouts.
- Ensure Safety Protocols are implemented and enforced.
- Ensure ongoing disinfecting and cleaning as well as COVID protocols are met.
- Ensure incident reports are submitted and follow up to mitigate further risks.
- Assist with staff schedules.
- Ensure efficient day-to-day operations that include calling ALC (Atlantic Lottery Commission) when machines are not working properly.
- Supervisor staff that includes mentoring, training and record keeping/documenting.
- Address escalated issues staff need assistance with and report to Gaming Manager.
- Cover for Assistant Gaming Manager in his/her absence.
- Other related duties as requested by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge and experience with Sipekne’katik Gaming Establishments.
- Experience working with the public and counting cash.
- Experience supervising and training others.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to diffuse confrontational situations using non-violent crisis intervention techniques.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) or willingness to take additional training.
- Ability to provide superior customer service.
- Must be flexible and reliable to work weekends and nights shifts as assigned.
- Knowledge of Indigenous and/or Mi’kmaw communities/organizations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle with automobile insurance.
- A criminal records check is required. Having a criminal record is not a determining factor.
Benefits
Starting: $17.00/hour (80 hours bi-weekly). This position comes with a variety of benefits including health, dental, disability and life insurances, an employee & family assistance program and employer pension plan. Proof of Vaccination required.
