Landmark East School in Wolfville, NS
Landmark East School is a small, independent co-ed school for students diagnosed with learning disabilities in grades 3 through 12 and provides quality academic programs with personal growth experiences for each student. The approximately 60-75 students who attend Landmark East are diagnosed with a learning disability including dyslexia, attention deficit disorder or a nonverbal learning disability. Class sizes range in elementary and middle school from 1 to 8 students and in high school from 1 to 10 students. Academic programs are fully approved by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and individual intensive support classes are available for students, as required. All students participate in a daily advisory program as well as physical activity. All middle and high school students participate in a supervised daily study/homework program. The school is located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia – a small university town nestled in the Annapolis Valley.
Two positions available:
One full-time position for Secondary Mathematics
One full-time position for Secondary Science (Chemistry background preferred)
General Requirements:
Bachelor of Education degree
Nova Scotia Teacher Certification
Language – English background

Teaching Requirements:
Teach students through focused instruction, multimedia presentations
Provide individualized intensive support as required
Prepare subject material for presentation according to the Nova Scotia curriculum guidelines
Prepare, administer and correct assessments
Work with other teachers to support individual students’ needs
Evaluate the progress of students and communicate results with students, parents and school leaders
Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops
