Job Intro

Hippy Hemp is seeking full time retail manager to oversee two part-time sales staff and assigned responsibilities. The Manager is required to become knowledgeable about inventory including environmentally friendly clothing, natural bath and body products, souvenirs, snack foods and non alcohol beverage. The business is a local agent for Maritime Bus Company selling bus services 7 days a week, 7:30 am – 6:00 pm with exception to statuary holidays. From May to October,  the shop is very busy benefiting from the cruise ship and tourist industry.

Typical Work Day

Tasks typically would include supervising staff, checking stock, ordering, stocking shelves, checking email, responding to inquiries, social media marketing, covering for staff on break, ringing in sales, or working on the floor during peak times when an extra person is required.

Requirements

What’s Most Important

– Retail management or team leadership experience, scheduling/supervising staff. Availabilty for alternating shifts 7:30 am – 3:00pm,10:30 am – 6:00 pm, some weekends.

– Responsible for daily operations on occasions where owner may be away

– Positive attitude towards work, problem solving skills, resolving conflict

– Professionalism with staff and ability to create/sustain positive customer experience

– Ability to handle cash, complete bank deposits

– Post secondary education in business/retail considered an asset
