Are you a well-rounded professional, pursuing a challenging career with the chance to grow and make a real difference? There are many available positions in long-term care for RNs who have a passion for working with seniors; or with home nursing, where you will provide care to people of all ages in their homes and other community settings.
As an RN, you will be responsible for the provision of all aspects of care in the long-term care facility or the home, as well as the training and leadership of Licensed Practical Nurses and CCAs. You must have a sincere passion and commitment to providing quality services for seniors.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Long-Term Care)
· Practice safe, compassionate, competent, and ethical care throughout the continuum of health and wellness of the residents.
· Administer direct nursing care and plan Resident care in consultation from the multidisciplinary care team.
· Administering and recording prescribed medication.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Homecare)
· Diabetes management
· Dialysis
· IV medications
· Palliative care
· Phlebotomy
· Wound care
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
· Current License (or eligible for license) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
· A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required (Homecare)
· First Aid and CPR
