4-H Nova Scotia is the premier youth development organization in Nova Scotia. It is a member-led and member-driven organization that promotes leadership and builds life skills among youth through hands-on learning in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
4-H Nova Scotia (4-H NS) has a long history of contributing to the economy, the environment, and rural communities throughout Nova Scotia. The heart of 4-H is its clubs which include dedicated members and volunteers serving as club and project leaders. In Nova Scotia alone, there are more than 3,200 members and leaders spread over 75 clubs.
In 2022, 4-H Nova Scotia will be 100 years old. With long-term funding in place to assume full delivery of the 4-H program in Nova Scotia, the organization is poised to launch into its next 100 years. The Regional Program Coordinators (RPC) will play a key part role in this new model, organized around five geographic areas: Cape Breton; Central; Eastern; South Western; Valley.
What qualities are 4-H Nova Scotia looking for in a Regional Program Coordinator?
First and foremost, you are a community leader who can combine strategic thinking with the day-to-day needs of the community. Personally, you have a strong belief in the vision of 4-H Nova Scotia and demonstrated experience supporting youth leadership in the community.
As one of five new Regional Program Coordinators (RPC), you will ensure 4-H Nova Scotia’s relevance to the community, the accomplishment of 4-H Nova Scotia’s vision and mission, and the accountability of 4-H Nova Scotia to its constituents.
As an RPC you will have responsibility for promoting, coordinating, and supporting volunteers, members, 4-H families, and community partners in the delivery of the 4-H Nova Scotia program in your geographic region.
To this end you have experience working with and supporting volunteers, community members, and youth leaders. Operationally, you have well-developed skills in program development and delivery, volunteer leadership development and support, communications, and strategic thinking.
Your demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is fundamental to all aspects of this role.
