Marine Atlantic is currently looking for Recruiters to work with our Human
Resources department located in North Sydney, NS.

The Recruiter, reporting to the Human Resources Manager, is responsible for the
recruitment, selection and retention functions, ensuring the intake of qualified
human resources in response to Corporate needs and in keeping with company
policies, practices, collective agreements and applicable legislation.

Additional Key Areas of Responsibility
• Responsible for attracting and recruiting top talent for all levels of the
organization; positions include management, non-union and unionized
employees.
• Responsible for all steps in the recruitment process, from job postings
to offer letters.
• Maintain valuable relationships with hiring managers by having
open lines of communication and working together at all steps of
the recruitment process.
• Work with Recruiting Agencies when necessary.
• Apply principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at all levels of the
recruitment process.
• Represent the organization at Career Fairs and Community Events that
highlight careers at Marine Atlantic.
• Perform exit interviews.
• Assist with workforce planning, including retirement projections.
• Work diligently, to promote a physically and psychologically safe working
environment, that is diverse, accessible, inclusive, and equitable.
• Assist in the accomplishment of company objectives by performing other
related duties as required.

What qualifications do I need to be considered for this opportunity?

Education and Experience

  • Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience or a combination of equivalent education, training, and work experience in a relevant position.

Additional Qualifications
• Superior organizational skills and time management skills with a
demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
• Strong attention to detail
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, which have
shown you to be an excellent influencer and relationship builder
• Proven success leading multiple projects at one time
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

Asset Qualifications
• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) or progressing
towards obtaining CPHR

Salary: $64,797.30 to $80,996.63
