Fairmont Hot Springs Resort – Landscaping Labourer

Position Summary – The Landscaping Labourer is responsible to care for the grounds of the lodge and golf clubhouses. Will produce manicured, healthy and eye-pleasing environments for
guests to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. This will be achieved in harmony with the golf course turf care department, resort maintenance, sales & marketing and will work closely with the Grounds Foreman in setting and achieving goals.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist Grounds Foreman with greenhouses; selects, propagates, and grows plant materials for ornamental use on FHSR golf course, Lodge and other company properties.
• Maintains flower beds, all greenspaces, sidewalks, patios, and ornamental beds
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery.
• Helps train other landscape staff in routine maintenance.
• Applies pesticides and fertilizers to ornamental plantings.
• Keeps clubhouses and lodge weed, debris and, garbage free.
• Develop, maintain, and improve clear, concise, and effective communications inter and intra departmentally.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and fellow employees.
• Seasonal lighting set-up and maintenance.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Promote a positive environment with all other FHSR departments.
• Co-operate and accept other assignments as and when required.
• Reports equipment problem or failure to Supervisor/Manager Immediately.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum 1 year of landscaping experience.
• Formal education in Landscape Design Maintenance is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Wage:

  • Between $16.00 – $17.00/hr

Housing:

  • We have subsidized housing available for our team members. Housing is located within the community of Fairmont Hot Springs, and is a short walk away from the resort. All housing is shared (no single rooms) and comes fully furnished. You have access to free laundry facilities, kitchen(s), and public spaces. Travel:

  • If flying, we recommend you fly into the Cranbrook Airport. We will arrange a shuttle to pick you up from there and bring you to the resort.
