Marine Atlantic is currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to work with our Human
Resources department located in North Sydney, NS. This is a term position with an end date of 31
March 2022.

The HR Coordinator will work closely with the Organizational Effectiveness Specialist to
help implement Marine Atlantic’s (MAI) various diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives.
This role will be responsible for assisting with the execution of relevant programming,
training, and other D&I strategies to continue fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive
workplace for all MAI personnel.

Additional Key Areas of Responsibility

Support the Organizational Effectiveness Specialist in the delivery of diversity and inclusion
programs including:
• Manage intranet content and updates for the diversity and inclusion portfolio
• ternal communications promoting awareness for
diversity and inclusion initiatives

• Establish greater awareness and approaches for gender equality, Indigenous and Culturally
Diversity, Disability, and LGBTQ2+ inclusion and assist in creating and managing Employee Networks
on these topics
• Coordinate diversity and inclusion events both internally and externally
• Establish contacts, conduct and facilitate presentations, training sessions, host and attend
stakeholder meetings to embed diversity and inclusion
principles and initiatives in the MAI’s operations
• Improve and manage metrics for measuring the effectiveness of implemented diversity and
inclusion initiatives
• Assist in providing research, analysis, reporting and recommended actions on diversity and
inclusion activities and trends

What qualifications do I need to be considered for this opportunity? Education and Experience
• Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience
OR
• A combination of equivalent education, training, and work experience in a relevant position

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion and experience in diversity and inclusion practice
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to best diversity and inclusion practice in
complex organizations
• Superior organizational skills and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to
organize, prioritize, and multi-task
• Strong attention to detail
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, which have shown you to be an
excellent influencer and relationship builder
• Proven success leading multiple projects at one time
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

Asset Qualifications

• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) or progressing towards obtaining CPHR
