Operations Coordinator Community Cares Youth Outreach (CCYO)

CCYO is a collaborative hub that is dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, particularly young people and their families. CCYO is committed to a strength-based, trauma-informed approach that emphasizes empowerment, inclusion, and community engagement. The hub brings together a variety of stakeholders, including grassroots groups, government agencies, and local health organizations, to develop and implement impactful initiatives that address poverty and other social determinants of health. CCYO is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as we continue to grow and expand our reach in the community. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the Community CARES Youth Outreach Collaborative Hub. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing several key areas, including office and facilities management, and providing support to a social enterprise cafe currently under development and other activities with a business focus.

Responsibilities: Qualifications:

  • Complete general administrative work requirements for the Hub and projects under the mandate
  • Work with grassroots groups to facilitate access to space for community-based activities
  • Manage the facilities of the community hub, including formulating and maintaining maintenance and repair schedules, contracting repair services, and ensuring general upkeep of facilities and grounds
  • Co-lead and co-facilitate budget processes for the Hub Provide day-to-day financial oversight support for Hub programs and services Manage facility use, including scheduling rotating agencies and programming and implementing liability controls
  • Coordinate regular meetings and professional development opportunities for the roundtable of Hub member agencies
  • Maintain a database of Hub member agencies and volunteers
  • Administer relevant checks such as references, police checks, and vulnerable population checks
  • Participate in community engagement activities
  • Support marketing and fundraising efforts as required
  • Produce and maintain a donor and funding database for Hub activities/programs
  • Assist with the development of an on-site social enterprise cafe and other business-oriented initiatives, such as the ARTpreneurs program Assist with planning and facilitating Campaign 2000 Poverty events/activities

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business management, community economic development, or a related field
  • Previous experience managing payroll, benefits, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Diploma or certificate in bookkeeping or managerial accounting along with previous experience executing administrative tasks in a social sector setting or similar environment
  • Exceptional business writing skills and a high level of proficiency in working with computers including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in community development, proposals and nonprofit finances
