Position Summary:
This Procurement student will play a vital role in McCain’s efforts to be a best-in-class purchaser of materials and services for use in the manufacture of food products, and will provide tactical supply chain support in the planning, delivery and storage of raw and packaging materials required for production at McCain’s North American plants. Furthermore, this position will support:
• Procurement systems initiatives
• Problem solving and troubleshooting for material and service supply outages
• Drive improvement opportunities related to supplier delivery performance
The Procurement Student will work hand in hand with the Procurement Service Center to ensure on time delivery of materials. The Procurement Student will be responsible for the Open Order Report in an effort to proactively identify risk and reduce material impacts to production.
Responsibilities:
• Review daily exception reports and insure that all required supply chain actions are taken in a proactive and timely manner to support plant production requirements.
• Drive reporting improvements through automation.
• Management of in-bound raw material supply chain – Ensure timely delivery of all ingredients and packaging materials necessary to support production. Provide advanced notification of potential material impacts to the Procurement Service Center
• Management of ingredient and packaging inventories with a focus upon maintaining inventories at an optimal level to support production requirements without risking supply to customers.
• Conduct transactional procurement work including PO development and vendor follow up.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree program, preferably in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain.
• Computer Skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Demonstrated skills in the area of analytical, planning and analysis. Role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver with excellent prioritization and collaboration skills.
