About the Job
The successful candidate will provide research and online event coordination assistance to Cape Breton University’s Purdy Crawford Chair in Aboriginal Business Studies in support of the A SHARED Future’s Bras d’Or Lakes CEPI Project.

Compensation: 8 weeks $15.05/hr (35 hours per week) beginning July 6, 2020

Eligibility:
This position is funded in part through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Briefly, applicants must between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada. Job Duties
The position involves coordination and organization of online virtual events. Activities include planning meetings, managing contact and invitation lists and liaising with members of the Collaborative Environmental Planning Association (CEPI) and affiliated organizations. Assistance with research will include capturing participant input and assisting with data analysis.

Qualifications and/or Skill Requirements
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications and experience with online meeting applications such as Zoom, JoinMe, Skype. All

Throughout the summer, all non-essential CBU staff are working remotely. All applicants must be able to work independently with little supervision, and must have access to high speed internet

Knowledge of Mi’kmaq language and culture an asset. Preference will be given to Mi’kmaq applicants.
