Job Description
A tutor is an individual who assists students in understanding course materials by using various techniques and teaching strategies.
Tutors –
- Are sensitive to the fact that many students are anxious
- Encourage and assist students to foster a positive learning environment.
- Help students gain the study skills, organizational skills, and time management skills to become an effective learner.
- Student tutors make $20/hour, those with an undergraduate degree $25/hour and Masters/PHd $35 and are paid by the student

Requirements
- Currently tutoring is taking place online, usually via MS Teams. When we are not under Covid-19 restrictions, tutoring is done on-campus in a public location such as The Learning Commons or the Library
- You must have already taken the course (above) (or have a relevant degree) and scored a 75% or above.
- You must complete the training document and fill out a short quiz to qualify if you are chosen to be a tutor
