The Centre for Teaching and Learning is looking for a student to take on the part-time role of Student Facilitator (approximately 5 hours a week) with an expected start date of January 3rd  and the end date of April 6th. The majority of positions require that students be on-campus to support classes.

Student Facilitators are assigned to teaching faculty who are teaching online or in dual-mode classes for the winter semester. Student Facilitators are responsible for supporting faculty and students during online-live or dual-mode classes that use MS Teams.

This role might be for you if you are:

  • A current CBU student as of January 2023
  • A confident communicator (written and verbal)
  • An independent troubleshooter
  • Able to think on your feet
  • Calm, cool and collected in hectic situations
  • Knowledgeable in MS Teams
  • Available to be on-campus

  • Submit a resume and cover letter
  • Create a short tutorial video (maximum length 3 minutes), using Screencast-o-Matic, QuickTime, or other screen-capture software, explaining and walking the viewer through the use or function of one key Microsoft Teams feature (eg. video meetings or Breakout Rooms)
  • Reply to the following prompt: A student is having issues logging on to Microsoft Teams for class A) What instructions would you provide the student to support them in logging on and B) If the problem, persisted what email would you write to the IT help desk? Provide the instructions as you would tell the student and provide the email you would write to IT.
  • Indicate if you will be available for training on January 4, 2023.
  • Indicate that you are available to be on-campus to support classes
  • Submit a copy of your winter class schedule
