CEWIL PROGRAM ASSISTANT – JENNIFER KEEPING CENTRE

Position Title: Program Assistant
Hours: Part-time, 14 hours/week
Pay: $16.5/hour
Term: Approximately 8 months
Start Date: May 1st
Job Location: This position will be primarily based at Cape Breton University (1250 Grand Lake Road).

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated and Program Assistant to join our team. The Program Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the CEWIL program, particularly in working with vulnerable groups, especially students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be a current student at Cape Breton University, with strong communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft products. This position is based in an office setting and requires a team player with excellent organizational skills and a commitment to professionalism

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contact potential candidates and evaluate their qualifications for the program participation
  • Organize and facilitate trainings, events, and workshops related to the CEWIL program.
  • Work closely with the Student Placement Officer in Career Services to promote the program and ensure the program running successfully.
  • Issue bursaries and process invoices related to program activities. Assist in project evaluation and prepare program reports for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of program initiatives.
  • Other duties assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current student at Cape Breton University.
  • Clear criminal background check required.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience or familiarity with working with vulnerable groups, especially individuals with disabilities is considered as an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
