Research Assistant – Housing Research – People, Places, Policies and Prospects (1 Position Available)

Employment Duration: Winter Semester (January 11th – Ending April 30th)

Hours: 10 Hours / Week

Rate of Pay: $23.00 / Hour

 

Job Description:

This research position will involve finding surveys and interview guides used in housing research (and specifically, ones that capture housing condition, housing stability,  neighbourhood connections, health and wellbeing and economic hardship).  Over the semester this research assistant will help create an annotated bibliography or similar tool that collates this material.

Specific Job Tasks May Include:

  • Literature review
  • Developing a resource for housing researchers and practitioners (either an annotated bibliography, or a “handbook of scales”)
  • Developing knowledge mobilization materials including excerpts for newsletters, websites, and presentations to project partners
  • Attending and facilitating discuss in meetings with national and international project partners including housing professionals, academics at other institutions, as well as, other research assistants

Parent Research Project Description – People, Places, Policies and Prospects:

This project is funded and developed through the People, Places, Policies and Prospects project led by Dr. Catherine Leviten-Reid. This project is multi-pronged, national in scope, and looks to answer the question “How do affordable rental housing approaches of different kinds affect the most vulnerable Canadians?”.
