Accountabilities: As part of the Capital Projects team focused on project cost control, the Junior Business Analyst will be responsible to:
- Reviewing the monthly forecasts provided by cost analysts and updating Project Status reporting for team bi-weekly update meetings.
- Support budget/forecasting requirements
- Prepare and maintain monthly accrual list
- Run monthly PO report
- Provide requisitioning support to project managers
- Send invoices for approval and complete receiving
- Complete invoices on hold report weekly
- Work closely with Procurement through the Request For Proposal process
- Work with business representatives on process review and analytics to identify Continuous Improvement opportunities.
- Develop standards, training and communication documentation with direction from the project coordinator.
- Conduct basic data analysis and assessment of data quality;
- Assist with other business improvement activities and business tasks as assigned.
- Have a willingness to learn basic Project Management and track and complete tasks associated.
- Other duties as time permits are organizing electronic records, reviewing contracts, and closing projects (Work Orders, Finance and Admin).
- You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
Skills, Capabilities and Experience:
- Must be working towards a post-secondary degree in Business or other related discipline
- Experience and proficiency with entire MS Office suite, particularly Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, merging and master sheets) together with strong analytical, data, and math skills.
- Experience with MS SharePoint is an asset.
- Must have excellent writing skills.
- Must have strong business and personal communication skills;
- Must have strong attention to detail and prioritization skills;
- Excellent organizational skills, with good problem-solving approach;
- Self-starter; must be able to meet deliverables with minimal supervision;
Salary: To commensurate with qualifications and experience.
