Job Summary:
Destination Cape Smokey is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Coordinator to work in our marketing department. The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating social media posts and engaging the audience, both in person and online. This position has the ability to be partially remote.
To be successful as a Social Media Coordinator, you must be highly organized, have excellent people skills, a functioning knowledge of the biggest social media platforms, and the ability to gather and organize content. A good Social Media Coordinator is eager to keep abreast of industry innovations, and enjoys interacting with others.
Principal Duties:
Reports to: Marketing Director
- Aids in managing company social media platforms.
- Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation.
- Assists marketing management with large projects, events, and community management.
- Aids in social media engagement during events, such as Facebook Live and other live posts.
- Works as part of a team to develop social media campaigns
- Maintains a content calendar, Using timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analyzing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimize viewership.
Job Specifications / Qualifications:
- Functional knowledge of social media principles, best practices, and the desire to apply that knowledge in a professional environment.
- Ability to learn and adhere to brand standards and customer service practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook (ad and event creation experience an asset), Instagram, and Twitter.
- Eagerness to learn about new innovations and software.
- Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks;
Hours: This position is a full-time.
Salary: $14.00/Hour
