Buyer/Transport Coordinator

 

Clarence Farm Services Ltd. is a Purina feed manufacturer in Atlantic Canada.  We are currently seeking a Buyer/Transportation coordinator at their Truro location.

Primary function:  To buy and arrange delivery of all ingredients for mill production at the most advantageous prices and to maintain and build rapport with suppliers. To buy in a timely fashion to minimize ingredient outages and limit substitutions.

 

Skills:   Farming knowledge would be an asset

Computer skills required

Work with limited supervision

Reporting to General Manager

Position Overview:

Plan and manage inventory at multiple locations, production scheduling, supply chain analytics, and related supply chain management responsibilities.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Plan and manage inventory levels at multiple warehouse locations.
• Perform analysis of historical demand trends and forecast to develop stocking plans.
• Ensure adequate and timely supply of raw materials used in the manufacturing process.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, identify and implement solutions.
• All other tasks assigned by the manager.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor  degree in logistics, management, business administration or industrial engineering or equivalent APICS designation and
• 1- 3 years’ experience in supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, planning and evaluating skills.
• High level of skill in using  MS Office products such as Excel , Access, Word and MS Project with strong database skills
