Reporting to: Vice President of Promotions                                         

 

Purpose: The CBU Students’ Union is currently seeking an individual to fill the student position of Student Events Coordinator starting in August 2020 to April 2021. The successful candidate is to enhance student life on-campus by organizing events that appeal to the entire student body and working with the Vice President Promotions to encourage students to participate in events planned by the CBU Students’ Union.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing all Students’ Union daytime and evening sponsored events and activities
  • Help coordinate and enhance student participation in week-long activities such as, Week of Welcome, Winterfest, and Healthy Living Week
  • Coordinate and manage any volunteer duties during events
  • Recruit and maintain a list of student volunteers to assist with campus events such as, Week of Welcome
  • Work closely with the VP Promotions to ensure events are run properly
  • Assist coordinators with any events they have planned (when needed)
  • Responsible for organizing any Athletic bus trips that are run by the Students’ Union
  • Organize one Capers Helping Capers fundraiser per semester
  • Submit a monthly report of activities to the Vice President Promotions
  • All other duties deemed necessary by the Executive Committee.

Qualifications

  • Must be a member of the CBU Students’ Union as outlined in By-law 1.01 and registered CBU student prior to September 30, 2020
  • Experience in event planning and coordination is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment
  • Creativity is an asset
  • Attention to detail is important
  • Ability to work within a budget
