LOGISTICS SPECIALIST

We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

 

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the successful candidate must thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment, while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and detail.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a “can do” attitude.  The successful candidate will play a key role in the Supply Chain Department at Cavendish Farms.

 

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

 

  • University degree or College diploma preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of applications and transportation management systems
  • Attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that Service is on target “RAD and SAT.”
  • Work closely with our internal and external business teams to ensure operations are running smoothly and risk management plans are developed to avoid any disruptions in shipping.
  • Ensure carrier schedule adherence is on target for pick-up and delivery locations.
  • Work closely with our carriers and planning team to ensure we solve and develop contingency plans for lanes where demand is higher than carrier capacity.
  • Drive continuous improvements with carriers to avoid Customer, DC disruptions and fines.
  • Support our internal & external business partners as required.
